Yohji Yamamoto AW09 Runway

Old and young, comfortable and chic, innovative and wearable, loose and constructed; Yohji Yamamoto does it all in one. Pajama suits have been on mind for years now. I have seen a few designers aspire to that aesthetic which has undoubtedly been raised and cultivated by Yohji. His beautifullu knitted ensembles leave my eyes watering with desire and the tailored heavy wool suits with the most impeccable hand stitched, obscurely placed pockets are no exception to my lack of words and measureless admiration. I was crazy about the AW09 Collection which Yohji presented in Paris last month. These are just a few of the mouth-watering looks that were seen on the runway.

Patrick Rocha Jr is a young 25yrs old emerging artist son of surrealist painter Pat Rocha. His style is a mix between street graffiti and Pop Art, his pencil hair drawings are pretty impressive - Patrick seamlessly moves from the canvas to the streets and back again. He also painted murals in his hometown of Topeka, Kansas and Brooklyn where he now resides. You will be seeing and hearing a lot more about Patrick in the future.

Alexandre Herchcovitch’s A/W 09 Collection

For his mens AW09 presentation during Sao Paulo fashion week ,Herchcovitch seemed to inspire from the sea. There was definitely somewhat of an underlining nautical reference. He used a lot of poly’s and nylon-like waterproof fabrics, which he applied on more conventional jacket shapes. It was a nice contrast between familiarity and experimentation. Here is what I thought was the best of the Alexandre Herchcovitch AW09 Collection.
