Posted: 26 Mar 2009 08:07 AM PDT Jens Lekman : A Postcard to Nina Besides being incredibly engaging and peaceful, this song contains one of the most intricate, funny, tragic, and entertaining stories ever squeezed into song-form.* My favorite parts are when Jens watches Nina’s eyebrows for a clue of how to answer her father’s questions, and that he sends back “out of office auto-replies” after the father tries to befriend him. It’s also very sweet that he goes to such lengths for a girl he is in love with, even though she’s a lesbian. Siah and Yeshua DaPoEd’s “A Day Like No Other” falls in this category, but its twice as long. So does “Ode to Listen to “A Postcard to Nina” Here Related posts:

Posted: 25 Mar 2009 11:04 AM PDT Juls aka J*WLS ( or Julie Bouiguerourene ) is a pretty sick French Illustrator. Living and working in Paris as a freelance illustrator, her work is full of freshness and energy, illustrating well the world of fashion and Street culture of today. During her world tour between Paris, Seattle, London and Tokyo she works with publications such as Wad or Elle Girl Japan. Born and raised in rainy-but-heart-warming-Lille, I studied foreign languages before moving on to Seattle where I got familiar with the wonderful world of computerised design though 3D modelling/animation & video. Posted: 25 Mar 2009 08:49 AM PDT Such a cute series, shot by Australian photographer, Vee Speers. She first came up with the concept of “The Birthday Party” series after watching her own children and their friends play during a fancy dress party. In creating her own series, choosing the outfits and creating a ubiquitous tone throughout, Speers evokes conceptual contemporary concerns, such as the suggestion of adulthood coming prematurely to children of the new generation.
