Posted: 03 Mar 2009 09:50 AM PST Sydney based artist Dean Christ owner of Ubyka Studio created a new Cyborg Animals art series explores the concept of Biological weapons delivered by cyborg insects. Wtf! Seriously what the future reserve us ?! Apparently the researchers are now growing insects with electronics inside them, with possibility to remotely control them. Sounds like a nightmare, but as Art object I think its pretty cool… Thanks to Lostateminor for the tip! Related posts:

Acid Reign by Patrick Demarchellier Posted: 03 Mar 2009 09:29 AM PST In this months issue of British Vogue you will find a great editorial entitled “Acid Reign” shot by Patrick Demarchellier. A exploration of hues, beautiful lighting, shapes and movement performed by who other than Agyness Deyn, Tatler Magazine’s new best dressed, taking the reign from Kate who has been holding the crown for two consecutive years. I love this kind of shoot; Studio shoots with a emphasis on lighting and the shape of the model. Related posts:

Posted: 03 Mar 2009 08:55 AM PST Solve Sundsbo is a norwegian fashion photographer who cleverly manipulates images making them out of the ordinary. His work incorporates everything from X-rays and 3-D scanning to hi-tech manipulation and laborious hand-painted retouching. “If I’ve got a style,” says Sundsbo, “it’s that I’ve got no style.”
Sundsbo’s portfolio is every fashionista’s dream address book - designers including Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Hermès, Bally and Armani. He has also branched out into short films, teaming up with Alexander McQueen to produce a piece for the Florence Biennale. “We set Eva Herzigova on fire,” he says. “She was really floating on water but it looked as if she was going up in flames.” He’s also responsible for some Dazed & Confused covers and the current issue of Pop, featuring supermodel Stephanie Seymour. (Pictures of Edita Vilkevicute by Solve Sundsbo) Solve is rallying against the mediocracy of fashion photography, he complains that “anybody can use a digital camera to take a picture and alter it in photoshop” and I’m all for experimentation and Sundsbo’s image manipulation gives fashion photography a complete fresh look. To coincide with London Fashion Week, Sundsbo has launched an exhibition and springstudios London - a former paint factory and now devoted fashion gallery - One of his best-known pictures on show is of the British model Karen Elson, with the contrasting colours altered to give a hard out of this world edge. Then there are shots of Canadian model Jessica Stam smiling through vampire fangs, and designer Gareth Pugh in a knitted American football kit. “The great thing about being a photographer is that you can manipulate your own universe,” Related posts:

Posted: 03 Mar 2009 08:42 AM PST It is great to come up on a site every once in a awhile that strives to execute one simple goal. In a time when sites are swamped with all kinds of info and rarely organized with a sense of hierarchy to the point that you ill just sit there staring at your screen and not knowing what I am suppose to do, finding “Just Watch the Sky” was a real breathe of fresh air. This site brings together music and typography, what a brilliant combination! There is one simple page from which you have two options, scroll to next song and play song. Each time you change songs the type and colors change, using a lyric from that song.

Posted: 02 Mar 2009 11:29 AM PST Robert Francis: All of My Trains Ladies and gentlemen, behold the young Robert Francis. He is a delicious man with talent beyond his years. Evoking legends of before his time, such as Jeff Buckley and Johnny Cash, Francis sings from his broody heart. His lyrics are dark and intense. His melodies-a bit country, a bit bluesy. He’s a little slice of special. Listen to one of his many love songs “All of my Trains” below. Listen to “All of my Trains” Here Related posts:

Posted: 02 Mar 2009 11:10 AM PST There are many obstacles to overcome when shooting upcoming seasons Couture. Couture pieces are held with much regard so they come with handlers and have very tight time frames, usually not exceeding a few hours. With these kind of restrictions its hard to cover full Couture stories, but photographer Ellen von Unwerth got the best of all fashions by having her photo booth set up backstage of the Couture Shows. I have used her images from New York Times Magazine (yesterday’s issue) to create these collages, but this is no excuse for missing the full coverage slide show available in print and partially at New York Times Magazine Online.
