Eduardo Recifes’s Visual Communcation Posted: 16 Mar 2009 10:02 AM PDT Brazilian artist, Eduardo Recife, is known for his distinct style in mixing type and collage. He has a serious passion for type that dawned on him back in 1997, when he “discovered the grunge type scene on the Internet and it was love at first sight”. His work provokes a kind of deep nostalgia which is universal hence his range of clients from The New York Times to underground subculture brand Upper Playground. He was born to communicate through image, by creating layers of thoughts and expression. “Its also the best way for me to communicate things I cant find words for… Its a therapy, its a hobby, its a job, its what makes me happy,” says Recife.

Posted: 16 Mar 2009 09:17 AM PDT The Concretes: Warm Night I came across this band as I was creating a playlist for my trip to Portland. A city I have wanted to visit for a long time and am just now having the chance to see. As you may know, Portland breeds many a cool band, and I wanted to listen to some local music to get me in the Portland state of mind. This is my favorite local band I came across. Their songs are sweet and lovely. Feel good pop with a retro folkie undertone. Listen to one of their songs, “Warm Night” below. And a big ‘Hello!’ from Portland. Wish you were here….
