Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of their Dockside boat shoe, iconic brand Sebago teams up with colette for a special rendering of their timeless classic. The shoes feature a grey upper accenting by a colette signature blue colorway and capped off with an orange painted toe by Jack Spade. To mark the occasion adequately, only 40 pairs will be produced and sold exclusively through the Parisian boutique, colette. A launch is slated for this Saturday March 21st, 2009 along with two other versions done up by La MJC. New York based Vane join in on the 40th anniversary festivities for boat-shoe brand Sebago with a four-shoe collection set to hit stores next week. The releases include both men's and women's styles on the iconic Docksides model. The use of new updated materials take it into a more contemporary style which include the Country Club, Olympian, Tux and Spearmint. The list of retailers for this drop includes Alife, Brooklyn Circus, Training Camp, Format Queens, Concepts Boston, The Closet Los Angeles, Akira Chicago, Solemates Chicago, Nomad Toronto, Nubian Japan, and Complex Montreal. Martin Lamothe AW 09 Collection Posted: 22 Mar 2009 11:15 AM PDT Since 2006 Elena Martin has been delivering consecutively progressive collections under the imaginary name of Martin Lamothe. Her aesthetic becomes refined in 2007 when she responds to the growing mens market and makes her collection unisex. I remember seeing her collection when I spoke with her in Barcelona 3 years ago, during her first presentation ever which was at Bread & Butter, but somehow in the mix of all that I took in that trip she slipped off my radar. Happily Neo2 has re-kindled my admiration for this fabulous young designer. A recent trip to Texas and Nevada became a major influence to the direction of designer Elena Martin’s, Martin Lamothe Aw 09 Collection. She was inspired by the landscapes, colors, and the inhabitants of these places and translated that inspiration into something you would never literally associate with Texas or Nevada. The ability to find and create beauty from the abstractions of life is the true test of a creative mind.
