Even in LA terms, the brand new SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills is a networking dream. The brainchild of Sam Nazarian - owner of the flourishing SBE entertainment and nightlife company - it has had iconic designer Philippe Starck, 'the Ambassador of Spanish cuisine' Jose Andres and even design maestro and retailer Murray Moss all on board from the start. Daisy Balloon

daisy-balloon

Japanese Balloon Artist Daisy ( Rei Hosokai ) creates almost everything with balloons, from Dresses to accessories and even flowers - The site presently shows some amazing dresses fabricated with the long balloons you’d usually only see in the form of little animals, but Daisy elevates the art to design amazing clothing that could be called haute couture. She won everything single contest she made - Let’s say that interesting for photoshoot, but probably hard to wear to a gala or nighclubs… DaisyBalloon

Chanel’s Russian Revolution

We have been feeling the whole headdress trend coming in for awhile, designers have been prancing around the idea and a hand full of brands have sprung from this idea of hairpieces, but who else than Karl Lagerfeld to set the god damn tone. Laetitia Crahay, Chanel’s brilliant accessories designer really outdid all expectations with this roundup.

Paris’s Le Ranelagh theatre, built in 1755 by Jean Joseph Le Riche de La Pouplinière, was the location Karl Lagerfeld chose to present his pre-fall 2009 Paris-Moscow collection.

The collection is a tribute to the obvious Russian influence in Coco Chanel’s designs during her romance with Russia’s Count Dimitri, although it’s also a reference to the emerging Russian economy, its passion and its tradition in ostentatiousness. Chanel and the luxury world have certainly set their sights on markets beyond eastern Europe.

Pretty sick, Would be cool to see my holiday pics on the next Batman Poster ! lol

Coco Rocha Immortalised

Posted: 15 Dec 2008 10:05 AM PST

coco-rocha-immortalised-as-a-rootstein-mannequin_imagesnewshome

In May we spoke about The Rootstein Display Mannequin Company when they were doing their launch for the newest immortalization of model Agyness Deyn, and today same news applies to canadian belle, top model Coco Rocha. So just like Agyness Deyn, Twiggy and Yasmin Le Bon, Coco Rocha now has her own Rootstein mannequin, which she unveiled at a cocktail party co-hosted by designer Richard Chai.

The model is the latest in a long line of models to inspire the Rootstein mannequin company. Founded in the 1950s in London by Adel Rootstein who decided still and lifeless shop dummies needed a seriously chic make-over. And the most authentic touch to the new mannequin? It also had Coco’s brand new hair color, auburn, which Rootstein creative director Kevin Arpino had to re-dye red just the night before the mannequin’s debut.
