Prada Bling Bling | Brian Viveros | Wodden Jewelry | TenOver6 Store | Nina Nikicio | Faces of Evil

Prada’s Bling Bling to GO

Posted: 06 Nov 2008 11:32 AM CST

Prada is just about to release their killer costume jewelry line for the Holidays. I am obsessed with the gaudy range of designs, the bold punch of gold in predominantly black pieces and the size. These pieces are definitely worth a $200- $800 investment. - first seen on NylonMag

Brian M. Viveros

Posted: 06 Nov 2008 11:30 AM CST

AMAZING Art from Brian M. Viveros. His character is sexy and dark, his art is considered as ” Erotic ” - I don’t know why I am attracted to his paintings of tattooed, beaten women, but they have such a strong look, with their Louise Brooks / Tank Girl style and their black 'helmet hair' and cig dangling from their mouths. Im in LOVE ! You can also buy is Limited and signed Giclee prints of some of paintings…Think Christmas !

Posted: 05 Nov 2008 09:45 PM CST

I just spotted something phenomenal (on NotCot); a piece of jewelry that send my my mind traveling through countries and sculptural references far and beyond.

Liv Blavarp of Norway is a master woodworker. Blavarp creates one-of-a-kind sculpture-to-wear necklaces, or collars, with unique titles. Her work is widely recognized throughout the world and is found in the permanent collections of the most important museums internationally. She’s also created wood sculpture, objects and architectural elements.

The TENOVER6 Concept

Posted: 05 Nov 2008 08:32 PM CST

TENOVER6 opened its doors to L.A. shoppers in the beginning of August 2008 with beautifully curated displays of fashion forward accessories and fashion gadgets. However TENOVERSIX much more than a new store in L.A., its is a concept between a collective of creatives who share one space where mix media and ideas blend.

The focus at TenOverSix is very much about displaying the product as art, but with a wink. In the gallery-like space, the product is displayed as a part of larger category-specific installations. We are obsessed with the details, we've gone to great lengths to showcase each line and piece with care and precision. In an all white space that is highly influenced by art, galleries and assemblage installation, the product is the only color, putting the focus exactly where it should go, on the beautiful pieces of fashion.

While browsing their blog, entitled Obsessions, I found these beautifully shot and directed videos by Joe Cole. So film, so fashion, so well executed!

Nina Nikicio Lookbook Vol. III

Posted: 05 Nov 2008 05:35 PM CST

For her third lookbook Nina Nikicio, a Jakarta-born designer, looked for inspiration from some of her favorite bands…Joy Division, The Kills, and Billy Idol. She says she wanted to create a collection that evoked the feeling that a “gritty world is more charming with hints of suppleness” Notice the mixes of suede, satin, lots of black…yet combined with feminine drapery and soft fabrics for a glam, gothic, yet chic look.. I love the purple top and leather skirt.

Faces of Evil : Faces of a Terrifying Dictatorship

Posted: 05 Nov 2008 04:06 PM CST

Using digital technology, graphic designer Hans Weishäupl has carefully reconstructed portraits of 13 dictators over the past 100 years. However, the photo montages, which measure 1.8 m x 2.3 m do not contain a single piece of original picture material, but are made of countless tiny, specially shot portraits of the citizens of the country the dictator ruled over. Christian Lechelt and Hans Weishäupl photographed over 350 people between November 2007 and March 2008, in Hamburg, Munich, Vienna, Dresden, Frankfurt, Berlin, Amsterdam, Moscow, Belgrade, London, Barcelona, Paris and Milan.

The portrait of Hitler is made up of 37 people. His nose belongs to an estate agent from Berlin, his upper lip is from a locksmiths in Dresden, and so on. Each wrinkle, each mole, each eyebrow was reconstructed to resemble the original.

Hans Weishäupl is the CEO of the "das comitee" advertising agency and a member of the Art Directors Club. The graduate graphic designer started his career in 1998 as a junior art director at Grabarz & Partner, a year later, he switched to Jung von Matt in Hamburg, where he worked as an art director, followed by creative director from 1999 until 2007. - via GoSee
