Posted: 05 May 2009 11:55 AM PDT I was absolutely blown away when I saw one of Irina Shaposhnikova’s knitted pieces in Russian Vogue. She is about to graduate from the MA at Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts this coming June, so You won’t have to wait long to see more of her highly anticipated knitted creations. These pieces are from her last collection at the Academy of arts. I can’t speak for anyone else but I definitely haven’t seen knit like this before. The cables are sewn onto almost invisible nylon mesh giving a knitted cabled cage affect. For more information on Irina go here. |

Paul Smith Limited Edition Shakespeare T-Shirts Posted: 05 May 2009 10:14 AM PDT Paul Smith has released a series of limited edition, Shakespeare-inspired t-shirts. Classic characters like Yorick, Oberon and Mercutio have been updated and screen-printed on an 100% organic cotton, regular fit t-shirt. (Yorick is the court jester from the gravedigger scene in Hamlet. Oberon is the king of the fairies in A Midsummer Night's Dream. And Mercutio is a close friend of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet.) Each shirt comes with a matching reusable bag. Illustrations by British Freelance Illustrator Ewen Brown |
Bold, Chic, and Unforgettable! Posted: 05 May 2009 10:05 AM PDT After last season review (see here) on Francesco Scognamiglio’s brilliant avant-garde collection I was entirely excited to review the FW 09/10 collection. I have created this collage to feature what I thought were the highlights from the collection. The range of meticulously hand engineered pleated sleeves to hyper tailored lace dresses to slim and sleek; contrasted with Rock and Roll Chic, gold over-sized studded pants make me so vulnerable I almost feel the need to throw my hands up and surrender. He is without a doubt one of my top 10 favorite designers for the time and I highly doubt the possibility of him veering off that track. |
Posted: 05 May 2009 09:43 AM PDT Los Angeles based Giuliano Bekor have some stunning high fashion photography, He doesn’t seem to like color very much, as 90% of his images are in black and white, but wow ! I Love when photographer showcased their portfolio in full screen, and Guliano’s work in full screen is just amazing ! I can see a pretty big Vegas inspiration - He also have an impressive celebrity and advertising section… I really love his style ! |

Posted: 05 May 2009 08:43 AM PDT This young girl recently started modeling for the Danish model agency Scoop-models. After seeing her photo-shoots and her attitude on the catwalk at Copenhagen Fashion Week AW10 I have a gut-feeling that she is going to get far in the modeling world. Take a look at her photos and judge for yourself. More photos here. |
Posted: 05 May 2009 08:43 AM PDT The Cramps: Goo Goo Muck Who doesn’t love a little rockabilly music? The Cramps became popular in NYC in the 70’s. Their music is experimental and psychedelic. It also has some 60’s punk elements in it. All in all, pretty groovy stuff. Listen to Goo Goo Muck below, and also check out their version of “Lonesome Town” if you want some more goody-goodness… Listen to “Goo Goo Muck” Here |
Posted: 04 May 2009 01:11 PM PDT Here’s one to watch. The Danish photographer Olivia Frølich has been working as an assistent for different photographers for many years, but recently started working on her own. She is inspired by the dreamcatcher universe by Wendy Bevan, and the universe by Helmut Newton. She has shot campaigns for the Danish fashion brand Ganni and worked for the Danish photographer Signe Vilstrup.
