Posted: 01 Dec 2008 12:03 PM CST Just when I’ve sworn that my eyes can not bare anymore neon for at least another decade, comes a mouth-watering editorial, entitled “Love on Top of Love”, from the 77th issue of Oyster Magazine shot by Christoper Katke that leaves me in utter lust. I am a sucker for vibrant colors but the last year has been quite abusive of them in the urban realm of style (or non style). The mix of the Balenciaga florals with the vintage brights of Sonia Rykiel and Dolce & Gabanna and the 80’s architectural haircuts are so on point and yet better than ever before. Posted: 01 Dec 2008 11:48 AM CST Kim Simonsson's figures are made out of ceramics, clay and glass with a touch of Gold and Silver, often covered in a thick white glaze making them look like porcelain. We normally associate porcelain with grandma's glass cabinet, but Simonsson's figures do not match this association. His style is definitely Japanese/Manga inspired. The mix of ceramics and gold is just sublime… “Authority in its’ many forms fascinates me and in my works I want to reverse the common beliefs by making the weak powerful.” (Kim Simonsson) See more on his website Related posts:

Posted: 01 Dec 2008 11:31 AM CST In California, Leo Marmol and Ron Radziner have earned themselves a reputation as the go-to architects for dream homes and classic house renovations. As a measure of their credentials, consider this: they’ve now built six homes for Tom Ford and they were the retro-fit architects of choice for the new owners of Richard Neutra’s legendary Kaufmann house. It’s a little surprising then to learn that Marmol-Radziner and Associates is quietly building a thriving side business in prefabricated homes. ‘I think these days, the term prefab is thrown around wildly,’ says Radziner. ‘Our prefabs are modular and are delivered to site complete with everything in it.’ Rincon 5, as the current range is known, is 60-ft long and barely distinguishable from a site-build, so meticulous are the detailing and construction standards. The $220,000 fee includes construction costs. Radziner points out that each Rincon takes eight weeks to build in the factory and is delivered to the site complete with tiles, plumbing and even fixtures like dishwashers and sinks. - read full article at Wallpaper Related posts:
